German Parliament sets conditions for lifting sanctions against Russia
Implementation of the Minsk agreements in the "Norman format" is a condition for lifting sanctions against Russia, Thomas Operman, Vice President of the Bundestag (Germany's Federal Parliament), told reporters in Berlin.

“I think we should talk about the sanctions that divide us. I am sure that these sanctions can be lifted,” said Mr. Operman.
But the prerequisite for this is the continuation of the “Norman format” negotiations on the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the implementation of the Minsk agreements in the interests of both sides, while ensuring the protection of the Russian minority in Ukraine and full respect for the state borders and sovereignty of Ukraine.
“If we reach such an agreement, I see an opportunity for both sides to lift the sanctions,” he added, stressing that the EU and Russia have significant common interests, calling for closer cooperation between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union.
