US Congress introduces new bill on sanctions against Russia
A draft law on new sanctions against Russia introduced in the US Congress envisages the possibility of blocking the assets of five largest Russian banks.
According to the text of the published document, the US Treasury Secretary proposed measures against "two or more" Russian legal entities - Sberbank, VTB, VEB, Rosselkhozbank and Gazprombank.

In addition to freezing assets under US jurisdiction, there are also milder measures - tightening or banning the opening of accounts.
In addition, the sanctions bill in the US Congress also proposes to ban US citizens from all investment activities in the Russian Federation's energy sector and also proposes to block Russian Federation's enterprises, defense and intelligence operations.
