The National Assembly will hold a vote of confidence for 50 positions.

Mr. Nguyen Hanh Phuc, Head of the National Assembly Office and Spokesperson for the 8th session, said that at this session, the National Assembly will conduct a vote of confidence for positions elected or approved by the National Assembly.
Accordingly, the National Assembly will hold a vote of confidence for 50 positions, including three positions that are being subject to a vote of confidence for the first time at the 8th session: Mr. Dinh Tien Dung, Minister of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Huu Van, Auditor General; and Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, Head of the People's Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
According to regulations, a vote of confidence is only for positions held for one year or more. Meanwhile, the three individuals mentioned above have, to date, served long enough for the National Assembly to conduct a vote of confidence.
The remaining positions that will continue to be subject to confidence votes include the President, Vice President, Speaker of the National Assembly, Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Council, Chairmen of the National Assembly Committees, and other members of the National Assembly Standing Committee; the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Ministers, and other members of the Government; the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court; and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
Regarding the agenda of the 8th session, the National Assembly Office stated that National Assembly deputies will dedicate two-thirds of their time to legislative work by passing 18 draft laws and 3 resolutions, and providing opinions on 12 other draft laws. These include draft laws related to the organization of the State apparatus, the Housing Law (amended), the Real Estate Business Law (amended), the Investment Law (amended), the Enterprise Law (amended), etc.
Another important part of the National Assembly's work is that delegates will discuss the Reports on the socio-economic situation in 2014 and tasks for 2015; the results of the implementation of the State budget in 2014, the budget estimates and allocation of the central budget for 2015; reports on the activities of the Courts, the Procuracy, the Government, etc.
The government's current central task of restructuring the economy is also being discussed and commented on by the National Assembly based on the thematic monitoring report of the National Assembly Standing Committee.
The National Assembly also provided feedback on issues of current public concern in order to issue a draft Resolution on reforming the curriculum and textbooks for general education, and gave opinions on the investment policy for the construction of Long Thanh International Airport, etc.
