According to the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Alexei Goncharenko, the payment system does not work properly. Therefore, the military has been waiting for months to be granted the status of combatants, and it is also necessary to solve the issue of demobilization.

“The military salaries are in complete disarray. The call-up order has not changed. Demobilization is also silent. Hundreds of thousands of people have been waiting for months, even years, to receive their combat status,” said Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko.

Mr Goncharenko said that not only was there a problem with support and payments to servicemen, but the situation with the troops at the front was “very serious”. “We need to sit down together and talk honestly. Let’s not talk about what happened last summer,” he said.

The Verkhovna Rada deputy added that he wanted to convey to President Zelensky the pointlessness of holding elections during a military conflict. He also wanted to discuss the loss of “aid from the United States.”

Martial law has been in place in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. A day later, Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilization. During martial law, men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.

Summons can be served in a variety of places. Videos posted on social media show conscription being carried out on the streets, at gas stations and in cafes. The videos show Ukrainian men being forced to go to military registration offices and enlist. A RIA Novosti source said that in various Ukrainian cities, all men were indiscriminately taken to military mobilization points.

Speaking at the plenary session of the Valdai International Club on October 5, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost more than 90,000 soldiers, 557 tanks, and nearly 1,900 armored vehicles since the counteroffensive began in June.
