National Highway 48E in Nghe An added to national transport development plan

The Prime Minister has just approved the addition of National Highway 48E, National Highway 217B, National Highway 47B, National Highway 49C, and National Highway 14H to the national highway system in the Central region under the Vietnam road transport development plan.

Specifically, National Highway 48E from Lach Con Port - Hoang Mai Town to Nghi Thach Commune, Nghi Loc District, approximately 214.261km long (excluding sections that overlap with existing national highways), completed and upgraded to at least meet the standards of a class IV road, the section passing through urban areas according to urban planning; the section from National Highway 7 to National Highway 1 meets the standards of a class III road; the section from Quan Hanh Town to Cua Lo Town has a road surface width of 15m, roadbed width of 16m. The planned land area occupied is approximately 339.71 hectares. The total investment is approximately 3,430 billion VND.

National Highway 47B has a range from Kieu town to Tho Xuan airport, about 24.6 km long, completed and upgraded to at least grade III road standards, 02 lanes. The planned land area is about 206.1 hectares. The total investment is about 602 billion VND.


National Highway 217B from Bim Son town to Thach Quang, about 49.7 km long, completed and upgraded to at least meet the standards of a grade III road, with 2 lanes. The planned land area is about 416.3 hectares. The total investment is about 1,408 billion VND.

National Highway 49C from Cua Viet Port (Quang Tri) to Dien Huong (Thua Thien-Hue) is about 41.076km long, completed and upgraded to at least meet the standards of a class III road, 2 lanes, especially the section from Quang Tri town to the center of the Southeast Quang Tri economic zone meets the standards of a class II road with a road surface width of 15m, roadbed width of 25m. The land area occupied according to the plan is about 267 hectares. The total investment is about 1,591 billion VND.

National Highway 14H from Cua Dai Port to Que Lam, approximately 73.41km long (excluding the section that coincides with National Highway 1), will be completed and upgraded to at least meet the standards of a class III or IV road. The planned land area is approximately 96.5 hectares. The total estimated investment is VND 1,400 billion.

According to the implementation process, from now until 2020, investment will be made to build and replace weak bridges on national highways (Lang Chieng, Vang on National Highway 47B; Bai Muong, Minh Hai on National Highway 217B; Tran Dinh, Tran Hieu on National Highway 48E; An Tiem on National Highway 49C; Cam Kim on National Highway 14H) in the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Quang Nam and two sections connecting to the Duy Phuoc - Cam Kim bridge approach road, Quang Nam province.

The period after 2020 will carry out investment according to the planning scale.
