National Highway 7A is deteriorating.
(Baonghean) - Subsidence, cracking, and peeling are common problems on the road surface of National Highway 7A in Ky Son district. This situation has caused considerable difficulties for people and vehicles traveling on this road. According to residents who frequently travel on this road, there have been many serious accidents recently, the cause of which is the damaged and deteriorated road.
National Highway 7A, located in Ky Son district, spans 49 km and passes through five communes: Chieu Luu, Huu Kiem, Muong Xen town, Ta Ca, and Nam Can. The section within Chieu Luu and Huu Kiem communes is the most severely damaged and degraded. According to authorities, the cause of this severe deterioration is due to two factors: objective factors such as natural disasters, floods causing landslides and subsidence; and subjective factors such as people's lack of awareness regarding road safety and vehicles carrying overloaded cargo, which affects the road's structure.
Mr. Bien Van Cong, Head of the Ky Son District Road Management Unit, said: “Recently, National Highway 7A passing through Ky Son district has been frequently deteriorating due to several reasons. Besides the fact that this section of road is frequently affected by landslides and erosion due to the direct impact of rain and floods, and the road surface temperature of 46°C to 47°C softens the top layer of the road, another important reason is overloaded trucks carrying timber and goods from Laos, causing road subsidence. To ensure traffic safety, we have been conducting daily inspections, repairing damaged sections of the road, clearing drainage ditches, and clearing trees to avoid obstructing visibility, restoring a clear road surface.”
With the rainy season approaching, along with the proactive involvement of the Ky Son District Road Traffic Management Unit in repairing, upgrading, and improving damaged and deteriorated road surfaces, bridges, and culverts, functional forces also need to tighten inspections, impose penalties, and resolutely reduce the load capacity of large- грузовые vehicles traveling on this road.
