Runner-up Bui Phuong Nga wore an ao dai called "Ngu Phung Te Phi" to introduce to international friends in the Traditional Costume competition at Miss Grand International 2018.

| After Phuong Nga was crowned 1st runner-up of Miss Vietnam 2018, she only had about 2 weeks to prepare for the international competition. Therefore, designer Khanh Shyna spent 3 days and 3 nights to complete the national costume for the beauty, from the day she finished sketching the idea. |

| Sharing about the inspiration for this outfit, designer Khanh Shyna said: “Ngu Phung Te Phi is inspired by the Phoenix, a bird in the Four Sacred Animals of Eastern culture. The Phoenix is a bird symbolizing noble women of the past with virtue, grace and elegance. The image of 5 Phoenixes, also known as Ngu Phung, symbolizes the best things with strength, power and charisma in the Vietnamese culture of the Nguyen Dynasty. In addition to the image of the Phoenix, the Ao Dai is also combined with the culture of the Nguyen Dynasty through the image of enamel.” |

| On October 10-11, Phuong Nga and the remaining contestants spent time practicing for the national costume performance that took place on October 12. Before that, the 80 contestants had many interesting activities such as visiting famous landmarks and experiencing the cuisine of the host country Myanmar. |

| Phuong Nga said she was quite nervous to wear the national costume for the first time to introduce it to audiences around the world, but she promised to perform her best so that the "color" of the Vietnamese ao dai would once again leave an impression in the eyes of international friends. |
