Quy Chau: Congress of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, January 9th, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Quy Chau District held its second congress (2013-2018 term). Sixty official delegates representing 361 members in the district attended.

During the past term, the Quy Chau Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin has carried out many practical activities to help victims of Agent Orange/dioxin overcome their pain and hardship, and achieve stable lives. Along with 171 million VND provided by the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange, the District Association built 6 charitable houses, donated 119 gift packages, supported 7 victims in developing production and livestock farming, and awarded scholarships to 2 children with particularly difficult circumstances.



The congress voted to elect a new Executive Committee.

In addition, the Association received support from various agencies and mobilized an additional 87 million VND. With this money, the association has assisted members in building houses, visiting and encouraging families in difficult circumstances, etc.

During the 2012-2018 term, the Association set the goal of carrying out more practical activities to support its members, striving to build two charitable houses each year for particularly disadvantaged victims (each house costing 25-30 million VND), and awarding two scholarships to students who are victims of Agent Orange...

The congress elected a new Executive Committee of 15 members. Mr. Lang Minh Thuyen was re-elected Chairman of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Quy Chau district for the term 2013-2018.
