Regulations on standards for cadre titles are of special importance.
According to Mr. Pham The Duyet, regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres are of special importance. If done well, they will have positive results.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has just signed and issued the Politburo's regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating officials under the management of the Central Executive Committee, Politburo, and Secretariat.
The majority of cadres, party members and people believe that the criteria and regulations this time are systematic and comprehensive from top to bottom, creating a more complete awareness of Party building in a synchronous manner. Accordingly, the top must be a steadfast, wise leadership agency that is trusted by the people; the bottom must be agencies that effectively implement the Party's Resolutions and are trusted by the people.
Mr. Pham The Duyet, former member of the Politburo and former Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that regulations on title standards and criteria for evaluating cadres are of special importance. If done well, they will have positive and solid results in Party building.

According to him, organizing and directing the building of a contingent of cadres is the decisive factor in the fate of the country, the survival of the regime, and the prestige and effectiveness of the Party leading the people in the new period.
"Such general regulations are good, but we must promote democracy within the Party and among the people, promote the supervisory role of lower-level cadres and Party members with superiors, and promote the steadfast leadership role of superiors with subordinates. Only then will the evaluation of criteria and regulations have real quality," said Mr. Pham The Duyet.
In particular, this time the Politburo stipulates that cadres under the management of the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat must be cadres who are absolutely not ambitious for power. Many cadres, party members, and people believe that cadres who are ambitious for power will not wholeheartedly serve the people and will not bring the correct viewpoint of the Party to build the Party. However, the only way to know that a cadre is not greedy for power is to look at the process of striving and performing the tasks of the cadre and party member.
Mr. Do Hong Ky, Sai Dong Urban Area, Long Bien, Hanoi said: “The General Secretary's statement that cadres are not ambitious for power has a positive meaning. People who are not ambitious for power are people who wholeheartedly serve the people, not having a personal interest in it. In any task, they try very hard, showing that: the task assigned by the Party is ready to do, not because of this or that position. Second, people who are not ambitious for power are people who are not individualistic and this power is given by the people, they carry out the people's orders, not personal interests."
Many opinions simultaneously emphasized that cadres must be the center of solidarity, exemplary in all aspects, free from corruption, opportunism, and profiteering, and resolutely fight to prevent and repel degradation in political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, and manifestations of self-evolution and self-transformation within the organization.
Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc, former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee for Culture, Education, Youth, Adolescents and Children, said that if party members do not practice and their moral and lifestyle deteriorate, it will lead to "self-evolution" and "self-transformation". Therefore, cleaning up the Party and keeping it clean and strong is the most profound measure to combat "self-evolution".

“The highest leader must be exemplary and lead by example. Declining moral and lifestyle is “self-evolution”, not evolution through words but “evolution” through actions. When a party member no longer plays the role of a leader, is no longer an exemplary leader in life, is no longer a good person, then that is “self-evolution”. Obviously, being clean and strong is the most profound measure to fight “self-evolution” – Mr. Nguyen Viet Chuc added.
Building and rectifying the Party is a difficult and complicated task, a struggle with oneself to overcome the limitations, weaknesses and shortcomings of each individual leader, especially leaders holding high responsibilities in the Party and government apparatus.
This struggle requires the highest political determination of the entire Party and the entire people. The root of maintaining the purity of the Party is the sense of responsibility and self-respect of each Party member; the example of leaders and managers... Only then can the Party truly stand firm in its historical mission of leading the people to successfully build and firmly protect the Fatherland./.
