Article 17The 2024 Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety stipulates the following procedures for avoiding oncoming vehicles:

1. On roads not divided into two separate lanes for traffic in opposite directions, when two vehicles traveling in opposite directions pass each other, the driver must reduce speed and move the vehicle to the right side in the direction of travel.

2. Cases where yielding the right of way when passing another vehicle include:

a) Where the road is narrow enough for only one vehicle and there is a passing area, the vehicle closer to the passing area must move into the passing area, yielding the right of way to oncoming vehicles;

b) Vehicles going downhill must yield to vehicles going uphill;

c) Vehicles with an obstacle ahead must yield to vehicles without an obstacle ahead.
