Quy Hop organizes Choong Temple Festival 2017

(Baonghean.vn) -On the afternoon of June 2, the People's Committee of Quy Hop district held a meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Choong Temple Festival 2017.

The Choong Temple Festival is an opportunity for the Thai ethnic people in the Northwest of Nghe An to remember their roots and to remember the merits of a girl named Nang Phom Hom (meaning Fragrant Hair in Thai) - who contributed greatly to helping the Lam Son army defeat the Ming invaders in the 15th century. The festival is also an opportunity for cultural exchange between regions, meeting the sightseeing needs of tourists.

According to the plan, this year's Choong Temple Festival will be held from the afternoon of July 8 to 9, 2017 (ie June 15 and 16 of the lunar calendar) at Choong Temple, Chau Ly Commune. The ceremony includes the Proclamation Ceremony, the Procession Ceremony, and the Buffalo Offering Ceremony in accordance with the national cultural identity.

This is the second year that Choong Temple has been organized at the district level according to Decision No. 3051-QD/UBND dated July 16, 2015, recognized as a provincial historical and cultural relic.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung, Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Hop district assigned tasks to members of the Organizing Committee, closely coordinating with relevant departments to do a good job of propaganda, preparing content, programs, and facilities for the Choong Temple Festival. The members on the basis of the assigned tasks proactively carry out the assigned tasks, ensuring compliance with the set plan to organize the Choong Temple Festival safely, economically and in accordance with the national identity.
