(Baonghean.vn) - In order to carry out the mission of "Let every child drink milk every day" and contribute to improving malnutrition, bringing the joy of drinking milk to poor children, in 2019, the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund and Vinamilk continued to donate millions of glasses of milk to children in difficult circumstances across the country.

Bringing joy to disadvantaged children across the country
The localities chosen by the Vietnam Grow Milk Fund and Vinamilk to donate milk are all places where people's lives still face many difficulties, so nutritional care, especially for children in many areas, is still limited.

Sharing this difficulty, in 2019 Vinamilk and the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund continue their 12th year of donating milk to children, with the desire to bring them the joy of drinking milk and receiving adequate nutritional care. Through that, calling for the community's attention to the comprehensive physical and intellectual development of the country's future generations.

In addition to the delicious glasses of milk that the children will enjoy, at the programs, the children will also receive free health check-ups and nutrition advice from doctors at the Vinamilk Nutrition Consulting Center. The milk giving ceremony truly became a festival for the students with funny clown performances and creative games designed by the Organizing Committee specifically for the children.

Wherever the Vietnam Grow Milk Fund chooses to visit, it is filled with joy and emotion. One of the places that can be mentioned is Thai Nguyen province, the first stop of the program in 2019.

Ms. Ma Thi Hong Yen - Principal of Quy Ky Primary School, the school chosen to host the milk donation ceremony for Thai Nguyen children, shared: More than 50% of the school's students are from poor and near-poor households, so many families cannot afford to drink milk every day. Many children are still stunted compared to the physical development standards of the health sector. Therefore, receiving the delicious boxes of fresh milk donated by the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund and Vinamilk is a great joy for the school and parents.

“Just looking at the eager faces of the children when participating in this Program is enough to see how happy they are,” Ms. Yen said emotionally. In the mountainous district of Quang Ninh, Mr. Pham Duc Chinh, Principal of Dong Son Primary and Secondary School happily shared: With the meaningful gift from the Milk Fund, teachers and students of the school will certainly have the motivation to teach and learn better, students can cultivate their intelligence and improve their physical strength to absorb knowledge every day.

There are many, many more touching stories like this...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Director of the Children's Support Fund, Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, said: Our country still has many children in special circumstances, poor children who do not receive adequate nutritional care, the rate of children with stunting malnutrition in Vietnam is still very high, ranking 20th in the world and for every 6 children under 5 years old who are malnourished, 1 child is stunted; for every 4 children under 5 years old who are malnourished, 1 child is underweight. Malnutrition limits the physical and intellectual development of children. To solve this problem, the whole society needs to join hands.

Therefore, Ms. Hien highly appreciated Vinamilk's sense of responsibility for the community in accompanying the Vietnam Children's Fund to implement the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund program, achieving the goal of having every Vietnamese child drink milk every day as well as community activities.
