Vietnam Grow Milk Fund and Vinamilk donate 70,000 glasses of milk to students in Thai Nguyen

(Baonghean.vn) - On July 18, 2019, the Vietnam Rising Milk Fund Program organized by Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) in coordination with the Vietnam Children's Fund presented 70,000 glasses of milk (equivalent to about 470 million VND) to 780 disadvantaged students at Quy Ky Primary School, Dinh Hoa District, Thai Nguyen Province...

This is also an opportunity for the Vietnam Rising Milk Fund and Vinamilk to show gratitude to families with meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27).

The program was attended by Ms. Truong Thi Mai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha - Deputy Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Tran Quoc To - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vu Hong Bac - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Bui Thi Huong - Executive Director of Human Resources, Administration and External Relations of Vinamilk.

This is the first destination in 2019 of the Vietnam Growing Up Milk Fund Program. Carrying out the mission of "Let every child drink milk every day" and contributing to improving the nutritional status of Vietnamese children, especially bringing the joy of drinking milk to poor children, the Vietnam Growing Up Milk Fund and Vinamilk have continuously donated milk to disadvantaged students across the country for many years; with the hope that they will have the opportunity to develop better both physically and mentally, and excel in their studies.

In addition to the delicious glasses of milk that the children will enjoy, at the program, the students will also receive free health check-ups and nutrition consultations from doctors at Vinamilk Nutrition Center. The milk giving ceremony truly became a festival for the students with funny clown performances and creative games designed by the Organizing Committee specifically for the children.

In the program, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), the Organizing Committee of the Vietnam Rising Milk Fund also presented 20 gifts, each worth 1 million VND and Vinamilk milk products to policy families, families with revolutionary contributions and families in difficult circumstances in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province.

The Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund was established in 2008 under the leadership of the Vietnam Children's Fund, under the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, and with the continuous support of Vinamilk, with a very noble mission: ensuring the right to drink milk every day for Vietnamese children, so that they have the conditions to develop comprehensively in both physical and mental aspects.

The program has brought millions of warm cups of milk with love to all provinces and cities across the country, from Ha Giang - the northernmost point of the country to the southernmost point of Ca Mau. With 1,560,000 cups of milk, equivalent to 10 billion VND, the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund has given to more than 17,000 children in 24 provinces and cities across the country in 2019. The total number of cups of milk that the program has given over the 11-year journey is nearly 35 million cups of milk.with a total value equivalent to nearly 150 billion VND for 440,000 disadvantaged children across Vietnam. Most recently, Vinamilk and the Vietnam Rising Milk Fund also held a ceremony to give milk to poor children in Vinh Phuc, Binh Dinh, Thai Nguyen, Quang Nam, Ninh Binh, Lam Dong, Ben Tre, Nghe An, An Giang...

Besides the Vietnam Growing Up Milk Fund program with many profound humanitarian meanings, Vinamilk is currently also the unit implementing the program "1 Million Trees Fund for Vietnam" and the National School Milk Program nationwide.

2019 is the 7th year in the journey to bring green across the length of the country, Vinamilk and the "1 Million Trees for Vietnam Fund" have brought the total number of trees planted in nearly 20 provinces and cities of Vietnam to nearly 700 thousand trees.of all kinds with a value of nearly 9 billion VND and is gradually getting closer to the goal of 1 million trees for Vietnam.
