'Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund' and Vinamilk donate milk to children in Can Tho

This is the third stop in the 2016 milk donation journey of the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund. Attending the program were Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan - Politburo member, President of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Le Phuoc Tho - Former Politburo member, former Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; Mr. Tran Thanh Man - Party Central Committee member, Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Ms. Dao Hong Lan - Alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs; Mr. Tran Quoc Trung - Party Central Committee member, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, Ms. Mai Kieu Lien - General Director of Vinamilk; and representatives of the National Assembly Office, ministries, branches, Vietnam Children's Fund, leaders of departments and branches in Can Tho.

At Giai Xuan I Primary School, 87,000 glasses of milk equivalent to 550 million VND were presented to nearly 1,000 children by leaders of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, representatives of Can Tho City, Vietnam Children's Fund and Vinamilk leaders. During the program, students had the opportunity to meet, chat and play fun games with the program's ambassador, Comedian Xuan Bac.
Previously, in 2015 and 2016, Vinamilk also organized a ceremony to give milk directly to poor children in Ninh Binh, Lam Dong, Ben Tre, Nghe An, An Giang... In 2016, the Vietnam Grow Up Milk Fund continued its mission of giving children in difficult circumstances nationwide a quantity of milk worth 22.5 billion VND, equivalent to 4 million glasses of milk.

The Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund was established in 2008, under the leadership of the Vietnam Children's Fund - Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in collaboration with Vinamilk. The Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund was established with the aim of reaching disadvantaged children across the country, with a seemingly simple but extremely practical action - giving them cups of nutritious milk to help them have the opportunity to develop more comprehensively in terms of physical and mental health for a brighter future.
With 4 million glasses of milk in 2016, up to now, more than 373 thousand disadvantaged children in Vietnam have enjoyed 30 million glasses of milk with a total value equivalent to 120 billion VND, through the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund, accompanied by Vinamilk.

From 2008 to now, after 9 years of the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund, Vinamilk has brought nearly 30 million glasses of milk, equivalent to 120 billion VND, to more than 373 thousand disadvantaged children in Vietnam. |
As the sole sponsor of the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund program for the past 9 years, Ms. Bui Thi Huong, CEO of Vinamilk, said that through the Vietnam Grow Tall Milk Fund, with a high sense of responsibility to the community, in 2016, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of Vinamilk's establishment, she continued to spend 22.5 billion VND for 40,000 poor children in 40 provinces and cities in Vietnam to drink free milk, with the value of milk increasing by more than 100% compared to 2015. All of this milk will be transferred directly to centers for orphans, disabled children, social protection centers, preschool and primary school students in remote areas in 40 provinces and cities for children to use continuously for 3 months./.

Support for the implementation of the right to development:Including programs: Granting scholarships to poor children with good academic performance, children of war invalids, martyrs, ethnic minority children, remote and isolated areas; Granting bicycles to children in difficult circumstances; Building preschool classes, charity classes, classes for children in remote and isolated areas, and areas with special difficulties; Building boarding houses for children in remote and isolated areas, and areas with special difficulties. 3. Support for the implementation of protected rights:Programs include: Supporting life buoys for children in river areas; Supporting wheelchairs for disabled children; Supporting hearing aids for hearing-impaired children; Long-term sponsorship for disadvantaged children who excel in their studies. 4.
