A video showing the smooth construction of a road in Australia has unexpectedly attracted over 14 million views due to its visually appealing presentation.

The video below, recorded by a drone, shows a 5km stretch of road being shaped in Moora County, Wheatbelt, Western Australia.

Since posting the video on January 10th, the website of the Moora district government, which has a population of less than 2,000 people, has seen a surge in followers to 59,000.

As of January 11th, the video had garnered 14 million views and 400,000 shares. Alan Leeson, a local government official, initially believed Moora's Facebook page had been hacked.

But in reality, the 15-minute video became a phenomenon. Mr. Leeson said the Moora government wanted to post the video to give people more respect for the road construction work. After becoming so popular, the video was shortened.

It is known that the process of paving the road with asphalt and then covering it with gravel cost approximately $443,000.
