(Baonghean.vn) -Following the tragic incident in which Ho Tien Toi, a child from Hamlet 5, Quynh Lam Commune (Quynh Luu District), fell into a pond behind his house and died, the Board of Directors of Quynh Lam A Primary School launched a fundraising campaign among teachers and students.

At 10:30 AM on May 5, 2013, Ms. Nguyen Thi The, residing in Hamlet 5, Quynh Lam Commune, called her youngest son, Ho Tien Toi, 6 years old and a student in class 1B at Quynh Lam A Primary School, to come home for lunch. However, after repeatedly calling without success, she went to look for him. Upon reaching the pond behind her house, she saw Toi's usual sandal floating on the water. She immediately alerted family members, who came to help. After pulling Toi out of the water, they discovered he had died from ingesting too much water.

Following the incident, the school's administration, the parent association, and other organizations visited the family to offer condolences. As a result, on Monday morning (May 6th) during the flag-raising ceremony, the administration of Quynh Lam A Primary School called on students to donate to support and comfort Toi's family.

The post office leaders and the school's Board of Directors presented the financial support and insurance money to Toi's family.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Tho, the principal and secretary of the school, said: "The material donation is just a small matter; the bigger purpose is to remind families and educate students about the dangers of drowning so that parents and children are aware and can prevent drowning incidents that often occur in the summer."

On the morning of May 7th, representatives from the Quỳnh Lưu District Post Office also came to hand over the insurance money, which the family had previously purchased as personal accident insurance for Tới, at an annual cost of 80,000 VND. When the insured event occurred, the Quỳnh Lưu Post Office advanced 10 million out of 12 million VND to pay the claim and offered condolences to the family.
