Is the US President's decision to ban liquefied natural gas exports helping Russia?
US President Joe Biden did Russia a favor by deciding to ban the export of liquefied natural gas abroad, Republican Senator from Texas Ted Cruz said in an interview with Fox News.
“What did Joe Biden do last week? He announced what I have to call a ‘Joe Biden subsidy to Vladimir Putin’, he blocked future LNG exports, which means Europe will have to buy it from Russia instead of from the United States,” Cruz said angrily.

According to the senator, the US President's decision has deprived American workers of jobs and "helped Putin".
“This is an example of Biden's weakness,” Cruz added.
President Biden earlier said the US would pause the approval process for new contracts to export LNG abroad due to climate change. The move drew criticism, including from Republicans. US House Speaker Mike Johnson said Biden’s decision was a “boost for Russia” and would make Europe dependent on its exports.
