(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 24, under the chairmanship of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a meeting to evaluate 3 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on developing Nghe An until 2020; discussing solutions to promote investment attraction and socio-economic development.

Attending the meeting were Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, members of the Provincial People's Committee, standing representatives of the Provincial People's Council and leaders of departments and branches.

According to the report of the Provincial People's Committee, in August, production, business activities, investment attraction, budget collection for real estate projects, urban areas, mineral exploitation, tax debt collection and handling of state assets sale... achieved the set plan. State management and administrative reform were of interest to all levels and sectors.

Agricultural production, planting food crops and vegetables reached 94-100% of the plan. The industrial production index (IIP) in Nghe An in August is estimated to increase by 5.86% compared to July 2016 and by 13.03% compared to the same period in 2015. On average, in the first 8 months of 2016, IIP is estimated to increase by 9.9% compared to the same period.

Total retail sales of goods in August are estimated at VND3,820.13 billion, up 10.95% over the same period; cumulative sales for 8 months are estimated at VND29,517.79 billion, up 10.05% over the same period. Service revenue (excluding accommodation, food and beverage, travel and tourism services) in August is estimated at VND378.58 billion, cumulative sales for 8 months are estimated at VND2,932.8 billion, up 11.38% over the same period.

The export turnover of goods in August is estimated at 49.67 million USD, up 23.9% over the same period; the accumulated value in 8 months is estimated at 332.88 million USD, up 12.31% over the same period. The import value in August is estimated at 42.15 million USD, up 4.4% over the same period.

Budget revenue in the area over the past 8 months is estimated at 6,509.8 billion VND, equal to 63.3% of the People's Council's estimate and an increase of 18.5% over the same period in 2015.

In August, the Provincial People's Committee focused on directing the acceleration of the implementation and disbursement of the 2016 public investment capital plan, and at the same time, synthesized a report on the implementation of Resolution No. 60/NQ-CP dated July 8, 2016 of the Government and accurately and supplemented information and data of a number of projects that need to extend the implementation time and disbursement of the 2015 capital plan to 2016 to send to the Ministry of Planning and Investment;

Continue to develop the 2017 Public Investment Plan to work with central ministries and branches... Conduct inspections, urge and direct the acceleration of site clearance and project implementation progress, especially key projects in the province.

In August, the province worked with a number of delegations from Laos, Korea, Thailand, and Japan; the Korean Ambassadorial Delegation visited Nghe An province; a delegation of officials from Gifu province, Japan; a Hemaraj business delegation from Thailand came to Nghe An to continue to learn about and implement investment plans; coordinated with units to welcome and work with KV Holdings Company in Nghe An to cooperate and prepare conditions to organize an investment promotion conference in Nghe An province in Korea.

The delegates at the meeting clearly analyzed the results achieved as well as the shortcomings that need to be overcome and proposed many positive solutions for the implementation of tasks in the coming months. In particular, continuing to closely follow the reality, directing the development of production and business, urging the tasks in each assigned field, increasing support for businesses and investors to implement works and projects.

Regarding the implementation of Resolution 26 of the Politburo, over the past 3 years, with the help of ministries, branches, Party Committees, authorities and people in the province, we have shown the spirit of solidarity and determination to develop industry, increase the value of agriculture, and exploit the potential of the West...

Up to now, of the 21 socio-economic programs and projects, 4 have been approved by the Government; 8 have been approved and implemented by the Provincial People's Committee; 7 continue to be implemented and specified in the 2016-2020 period. The Provincial People's Committee has directed the sectors according to their assigned tasks to review the implemented contents and the unimplemented contents to develop specific plans to ensure the set progress.

Focus on directing the implementation of the socio-economic development program, promoting the construction of economic zones, industrial parks, and high-tech zones; continue to strongly develop the Western Nghe An region to reduce the poverty rate (there are still 95,000 poor households in the province, the multidimensional poverty rate is more than 12%, while the whole country is 9.88%).

Members of the Provincial People's Committee also discussed solutions to continue promoting investment attraction in Nghe An until 2020, improving the provincial competitiveness index, and implementing key projects in the 2016-2020 period.

Under the direction of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Duong, the Provincial People's Committee Office together with departments, branches and localities need to be more determined in administrative reform, boldly analyze existing problems and propose positive solutions. Administrative reform and the effectiveness of handling tasks in each field must be considered as decisive factors to accelerate the completion of socio-economic development goals.

There is not much time left from now until the end of the year, so each department must review and assign specific tasks to each officer and employee to fulfill all requirements.
