In recent times, Do Luong district has focused on implementing the master plan and detailed plans for regions, sectors and fields as the basis for attracting and allocating resources towards the goal of accelerating the urbanization rate, building Do Luong town in the spirit of the Resolution of the Provincial and District Party Committees. Continue to complete the Do Luong District Construction Planning Project, Nghe An Province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; Do Luong Urban Construction General Planning Project (area 7,930 ha, including: existing Do Luong Town, the entire area of ​​11 communes: Boi Son, Trang Son, Dang Son, Dong Son, Nam Son, Bac Son, Yen Son, Van Son, Da Son, Lac Son, Luu Son and part of the area of ​​Thinh Son and Hoa Son communes); Continue to complete the detailed construction planning at a scale of 1/500 of the new Do Luong urban center, Do Luong district with a planning area of ​​270 ha, as a basis for attracting investment in the construction of functional areas: Administration, culture, education, sports, services, trade and residential areas contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Do Luong district; Complete the construction of the Urban Area Project in the South of Do Luong Town...

Along with that, the district established the Do Luong Urban Development Program until 2030 and established a Project to recognize Do Luong urban area as meeting the criteria of a type IV urban area and becoming a town developing in the direction of trade and services.

Effectively and efficiently implement the Land Use Plan to 2030 and the first year land use plan of Do Luong District Planning approved by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 275/QD-UBND dated August 18, 2022.

In recent times, Do Luong district has achieved very positive results in the field of investment attraction, that is, many large corporations and enterprises have invested in key projects in the fields of cement production, construction materials, garments, real estate, etc. However, to meet the requirements of becoming a town before 2030, the district continues to innovate its activities in this field.
