Over the past 5 years, emulation activities of Vinh city's armed forces have always been regularly focused on, contributing to improving combat strength, political, ideological and organizational strength.

In addition, Vinh City's armed forces also closely combine the unit's emulation tasks with major movements among the people, creating sustainability for socio-economic development as well as firmly ensuring the national defense posture and people's security.

The most prominent movements are: Armed forces join hands to build new rural areas; All people unite to build cultural life in residential areas; Movement to build culture in the army; Building regular, green, clean, beautiful barracks associated with the campaign to promote tradition, contribute talent, worthy of Uncle Ho's soldiers. Through emulation movements, Vinh City Military Command was recognized as the leading unit in building regular, green, clean, beautiful units of Nghe An province's armed forces in the period 2012-2017 and for 5 consecutive years achieved the title of Determined to Win unit.

With the results achieved, in the period of 2012 to 2017, the City's Armed Forces received many noble awards: The Party Committee achieved exemplary clean and strong status for 5 consecutive years, the Military Command achieved comprehensive strength for 5 consecutive years and the Cultural Unit; Emulation Flag of the Government for performing military and defense tasks; Emulation Flag of the Ministry of National Defense; 2 emulation flags of Military Region 4 for excellently completing tasks in the emulation movement to win; 3 Certificates of Merit of Military Region 4; 6 Certificates of Merit of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee; The President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam awarded the Third Class Fatherland Protection Medal (2012), Second Class (2016) to the people and the Armed Forces of Vinh City; hundreds of collectives and individuals were awarded at all levels...

Speaking at the congress, Senior Lieutenant Colonel Thai Duc Hanh - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar of the Provincial Military Command congratulated and highly appreciated the achievements that the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command had achieved in the period of 2012 - 2017. At the same time, he requested to continue to create a profound change in awareness so that officers and soldiers of the city's armed forces clearly see the role, position and importance of emulation work; closely coordinate with political and social organizations, military units stationed in the area to well implement the movements and campaigns launched by the Central and the province... In the immediate future, focus on advising and directing the good implementation of the task of the city defense area exercise in 2017.

Propose that the city's armed forces promote the spirit of synthesis, enhance political responsibility, solidarity, overcome difficulties, strive to excellently complete assigned tasks; strive to build the city's armed forces to achieve the title of People's Armed Forces Hero in the renewal period in 2021 as the goal set out in the congress resolution.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the City Party Committee assessed theThe emulation movement to win has made national defense education for all subjects an annual goal and target. The results achieved in national defense education have contributed positively to changing the awareness of the people of the City, increasingly understanding more deeply and effectively performing military and defense tasks, especially in implementing the Law on Military Service, the Law on Militia and Self-Defense Forces, and the Ordinance on National Defense.

To successfully carry out the emulation movement in the coming period, it is recommended that the City Military Command promote the patriotic emulation movement, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility for the patriotic emulation movement in general and the emulation movement to win in the City's armed forces in particular; focus on improving the quality of staff work, proactively and creatively coordinating synchronously and smoothly with movements, campaigns, departments, branches and organizations in the process of performing tasks; focus on building typical advanced collectives and individuals in the emulation movement and replicating typical examples in the City's armed forces, ensuring that the emulation movement to win increasingly goes into depth with increasingly high quality and efficiency, becoming a driving force to promote the comprehensive development of the City's armed forces, actively contributing to the socio-economic development, national defense and security of the province.

Comrade Vo Viet Thanh presented Certificates of Merit from the City People's Committee to collectives with outstanding achievements.

On this occasion, the City People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 15 collectives and 15 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the City Armed Forces Emulation Movement for Victory in the period 2012 - 2017.
