Quynh Hau commune receives certificate recognizing it as a New Rural Area.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 12th, Quynh Hau commune (Quynh Luu district) solemnly held a ceremony to receive the decision recognizing the commune as having met the standards of a new rural area from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial New Rural Area Construction Program - attended the ceremony.

Quynh Hau is one of the five communes in Quynh district that achieved the New Rural Area (NRA) standard one year ahead of schedule and was recognized as meeting the NRA standards in 2014 according to Decision No. 7587/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2014, of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Quynh Hau has always been at the forefront of all emulation movements at all levels and sectors. In 2003, Quynh Hau was a model unit recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as a Cultural Commune and a Heroic Commune. Building on the fine traditions of their homeland, in the national target program for building NRA, the Party Committee and people of Quynh Hau have worked together to complete the 19 national criteria. Through the efforts of the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front, mass organizations, and the people, the entire commune has mobilized the people to clear land for 12km of internal village roads, over 5km of commune roads, and more than 13km of canals and ditches have been concreted, and internal field roads have been basically hardened.

The people have donated nearly 25,000 square meters of land.² Agricultural land, nearly 4,000m²²Land for residential use and site clearance of over 2,000m².²Housing projects were undertaken to plan transportation systems and irrigation infrastructure. The total investment for the New Rural Development program in Quynh Hau commune reached over 187 billion VND, including 63.5 billion VND from the central government budget, 8 billion VND from the commune budget, and over 100 billion VND from contributions, land donations, and construction projects by the people.

In 2014, Quynh Hau commune mobilized capital and attracted investment to build many valuable projects such as the commune committee office, expanding and upgrading the commune stadium, and upgrading and renovating 12 village cultural houses. To date, Quynh Hau's economic growth rate has consistently maintained an average of 13-13.5% per year, per capita income has reached 27.4 million VND/year, the poverty rate has decreased to 3.9%, the percentage of culturally exemplary families has reached over 86%, and all 12 villages have maintained their title as cultural villages. Schools in the commune have met national standards, and the local education achievements consistently rank among the top in the district. The locality has also successfully implemented the socialization of education and built a learning society. A new, modern health station has been built to meet the primary healthcare needs of the people, and the commune has been recognized as meeting national standards for healthcare.

Comrade Dinh Viet Hong presented the certificate recognizing Quynh Hau commune as a New Rural Area to the commune.

At the ceremony, Comrade Dinh Viet Hong praised and acknowledged the achievements that the Party Committee, government, and people of Quynh Hau commune have strived to achieve in the national target program for building new rural areas. He expressed his hope that Quynh Hau would continue to uphold its traditions to constantly improve the quality of new rural area criteria, focusing on developing traditional crafts, promoting labor export, investing in education and training, building large-scale model fields, and introducing mechanization into production to increase value per unit area. Comrade Dinh Viet Hong presented the certificate recognizing Quynh Hau commune as a new rural area in 2014 and awarded the commune 500 million VND to build a welfare project in the near future. He also presented certificates of merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to 3 individuals and 4 collectives with outstanding achievements in the new rural area construction movement in Quynh Hau commune.

On this occasion, Quynh Luu district also awarded certificates of merit and prizes to 4 collectives and 6 individuals who have made significant contributions to the construction of new rural areas in the locality.
