Quynh Luu: Handing over "Houses of Love and Compassion" to single mothers.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of September 29th, the Women's Union of Quynh Luu district, in coordination with the Women's Union of Quynh Van commune, organized the handover of a "House of Love" to Ms. Hoang Thi Bay - a single mother raising young children in extremely difficult circumstances.

Implementing the "Shelter of Love" movement launched by the Quynh Luu Women's Union to share the difficulties faced by poor women and single mothers.

Over the past period, the Women's Association of Quynh Van commune has actively propagated and mobilized its members to contribute cash and labor to build the "Shelter of Love" fund.

Following the fundraising efforts, the Association selected the family of Ms. Hoang Thi Bay, from branch 5, to help build a charitable house in 2015. Ms. Bay is a single mother raising young children, and her livelihood depends solely on agricultural production. For many years, she and her children have been living in a severely dilapidated house.

With the support of the Women's Union of the commune and the help of relatives, on May 5, 2015, she started construction of a new house with a tube-house design, a mezzanine, and a self-contained bathroom. After 4 months of construction, the house was completed and put into use before the rainy season, providing her and her children with a stable place to live.

On this occasion, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and local organizations presented gifts to the mother and her children on the day of the housewarming ceremony.
