Quynh Luu: Four orphaned siblings receive gifts from the Vietnamese expatriate association in Germany.
(Baonghean.vn) –As reported, on September 13, 2012, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Binh (54 years old, residing in Hamlet 12, Quynh Trang Commune, Quynh Luu District, Nghe An Province), while carrying his youngest son, Nguyen Ngoc Dong (born in 2006), to collect snails for a living, swam across a lake back home. Despite suffering from cramps, Mr. Binh still mustered his strength to headbutt his son towards the shore, while he himself sank into the deep hole. The courageous father died, leaving four children who lost their mother and now face the tragedy of losing their father as well.
After the unfortunate stories of these four orphaned children were publicized in the media, many philanthropists nationwide shared their immense grief with the four children, who were left without a home, through acts of compassion and solidarity. At the end of 2012, a spacious three-room house, costing over 100 million VND from donations collected through newspapers and the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district, was built and donated to the four siblings: Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Nguyen The Phuong, Nguyen Thi Phuong, and Nguyen Ngoc Dong.
Representatives from the Quỳnh Trang commune government presented gifts to the children.
Recently, the ERPURT-THURINGEN-GERMANY Charity Association of Vietnamese expatriates in the Federal Republic of Germany raised a sum of money to send back to help four children.
On the morning of February 18, 2013, authorized by the Association, the Quỳnh Trang commune authorities presented a charitable gift of 100 euros from the Association to the children.
