Quynh Luu: People voluntarily dismantle structures encroaching on sidewalks
(Baonghean.vn) - After being mobilized by the authorities, the people of Cau Giat town (Quynh Luu) agreed and voluntarily dismantled illegal constructions, returning the sidewalks to pedestrians.
Implementing the plan to clear the traffic safety corridor, for nearly a month now, along with propaganda work and reminding people not to display goods and hang advertising signs encroaching on the roadway and sidewalk, the People's Committee of Cau Giat town (Quynh Luu district) has established 6 teams to deploy sidewalk painting on National Highway 1A passing through the town.

After being mobilized, businesses along National Highway 1A have become more conscious and do not display their goods outside the designated painted lines; some families have voluntarily demolished encroaching structures to restore the sidewalk, ensuring urban civilization.

According to Mr. Vo Duc Mui - Chairman of Cau Giat Town People's Committee, "Before carrying out the clearance, the Town People's Committee had propagated and mobilized and organized for people to sign a commitment to voluntarily dismantle illegal constructions and not encroach on roads and sidewalks."

Ms. Truong Thi Dien - owner of Tuan Dien restaurant in block 2, Cau Giat town said: "We are very supportive of the town's policy. Everyone wants the roads and sidewalks to be clear and orderly. We used to run a restaurant and violated the law by placing an advertising sign on the sidewalk. After being informed by the propaganda staff, our family voluntarily removed it and put it inside the prescribed painted line and pledged not to violate the law."
“After the authorities cleared the area, the sidewalk was cleared again, and pedestrians like us felt secure and comfortable walking without worrying about being pushed onto the road like before,” said Ms. Le Thi Cuong in Block 5, Cau Giat town.
