Quynh Luu effectively maintains 86 offshore exploitation teams

(Baonghean.vn) - Currently, Quynh Luu district has 86 united teams for exploitation at sea. The model of exploitation teams and groups contributes to improving productivity and efficiency of seafood exploitation in the district. On average, each year the exploitation output of the whole district reaches 50,000 - 55,000 tons of various types of fish.

In recent times, Quynh Luu district has actively promoted and mobilized members to convert their nearshore fishing and seafood exploitation by light to offshore fishing using bottom trawls, purse seines, hooks, etc., along with repairing and building new high-capacity boats to go offshore, improving exploitation efficiency.

Currently, the whole district has 1,322 boats, of which 742 have a capacity of over 90CV; creating stable jobs for nearly 17,850 workers.

Fishermen and their teams work together at sea to remove nets after long fishing trips.

The whole district has 86 solidarity groups for exploitation at sea. Each group has from 5 to 7 vessels based on the same type of exploitation.

Organizing fishermen to produce in groups and teams is an important contribution to sharing information about fishing grounds, weather, experience, supporting each other in handling risks, searching and rescuing; contributing to reducing production costs, reducing damage when accidents occur, limiting spontaneity, individual activities, and inefficiency of fishermen.
