Quynh Luu supports more than 1 billion VND to fight rice leaf roller epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - Faced with the development of the small leaf roller epidemic that is damaging summer and autumn rice, which is in the final stages of tillering and entering the stage of panicle initiation, Quynh Luu district is currently actively directing localities, related sectors and farmers to urgently spray pesticides to prevent and control the epidemic, avoiding affecting rice productivity and output.

After two days of launching, many localities have sprayed pesticides on 60-90% of the area. Many communes have established concentrated spraying teams, mixed the correct dosage as instructed, and followed the correct procedures to improve the effectiveness of control. Through inspection of rice fields that have been sprayed, the death rate of leaf rollers is over 90%. To evaluate the effectiveness of pesticides, the District Plant Protection Station proactively supplies each locality with each type of pesticide for easy monitoring.
This time, Quynh Luu district has allocated more than 1 billion VND from the district budget to support 50% of pesticide costs for localities across the district, and requested communes and towns to allocate the budget to support 20-50% of the remaining pesticide costs for people depending on the general situation of each locality.
