Quynh Luu: Over 1 month, 19 cases and 122 gambling subjects were arrested

(Baonghean.vn) - Since the beginning of October 2015, the police force of Quynh Luu district has been effectively fighting against all types of crimes, maintaining political security and social order and safety in the locality.

It was a gambling case in the form of shaking dice in the Da Bac hill area, in hamlet 6, Youth Volunteer Force Team of Tan Thang commune, Quynh Luu district. While the subjects were busy gambling, the district police raided and arrested 39 subjects, confiscating at the scene 43 mobile phones, 210 million VND and some related evidence such as: discs, cards, batteries, electric wires, scoreboards... Through investigation, the gambling group usually resided in Quynh Luu, Nghia Dan, Dien Chau districts, Thai Hoa town and Hoang Mai.

The subjects organizing gambling in the Da Bac hill and mountain area are being detained at the District Police.

Lieutenant Colonel Dao Van Khoi, Head of the General Investigation Team, Quynh Luu District Police, Nghe An, said that this is a group that organizes mobile gambling. These subjects hired 2 other subjects who specialize in clearing areas in the forest, using tarps and flashlights to organize gambling. At night, up to 70 subjects in many types of cars gathered at the foot of the hill and then walked about 500-700m to the gambling location. In addition, the subjects also assigned 2 subjects to stand guard strictly at the foot of the hill, making it very difficult to solve the case.

Also during this time, Quynh Luu District Police arrested 19 cases, 122 gambling subjects, confiscating more than 300 million VND and many related evidences. Focused on investigating and clarifying 9/10 criminal cases, recovered 10 motorbikes, total value of about 100 million VND to pay to the victims; arrested 2 cases, 2 subjects for illegal exploitation of natural resources; arrested 5 cases, 5 subjects transporting smuggled goods, violating food hygiene and safety and quarantine regulations, confiscating 5,000 chicks and ducks, 600 kg of animal organs and goods worth 85 million VND...

Breaking up the VA115P case, arresting two subjects, Tran Trung Tam and Dinh Van Trung, residing in Dien Phong commune, Dien Chau, seizing 406.5 kg of various types of fireworks and many related exhibits.

Colonel Tran Thang Long, Head of Quynh Luu District Police, Nghe An, said that the nature of the subject is relatively complicated, accumulating goods from sources by road, waterway and hiding them in the house. Then organizing transportation and selling them in small quantities, so the fight is very difficult. In the coming time, to ensure general security and order to serve the people to enjoy the New Year, especially serving the 12th National Party Congress, the District Police will deploy forces to stick to the grassroots, stick to the area, and resolve related cases right at the grassroots, not allowing hot spots to arise.
