Quynh Luu: Responding to the Lifelong Learning Week

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of October 2nd, at Quynh Doi commune, the Department of Education and Training of Quynh Luu district organized the Opening Ceremony of the 2014 Lifelong Learning Week. Attending the ceremony were leaders from the Department of Education and Training, the Association for the Promotion of Learning, representatives from several departments, and a large number of teachers from the Community Learning Centers in the district.

Overview of the ceremony

With the theme "Learning for personal and social happiness," the Lifelong Learning Week aims to raise public awareness of lifelong learning and build a learning society; to help educational institutions and non-formal education facilities improve their ability to apply education with the goal of convenient, diverse forms and rich content, suitable to the needs of the community. It creates opportunities for people of all ages to acquire foundational knowledge to continue improving their own knowledge.

According to Mr. Le Thanh Hien, Deputy Head of the Education and Training Department of Quynh Luu district, this is the fourth year that the Lifelong Learning Week has been implemented in Quynh Luu. Starting this week, many localities throughout the district will simultaneously participate, organizing activities to promote learning and build lifelong learning models within families, clans, and communities. In particular, the activities of community learning centers in communes and towns will focus on promoting and encouraging learning among all segments of the population.
