(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of February 15, the 27th day of the Lunar New Year, many ATMs in Quynh Luu district were overloaded due to the large number of people withdrawing money. In particular, many ATMs were broken, forcing people to wait for hours.

People line up to withdraw money

Every year, near Tet, the number of people going to withdraw money from ATMs at banks is very large, so there are often long lines of people waiting. In Cau Giat town, according to our records, at ATMs of Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development Bank, SHB Bank... there are always many people standing in line waiting for their turn to withdraw money. Many people have to wait for hours.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hung said he had been standing in line to withdraw money at the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade since 4 p.m., and it was still not his turn. Every year, he had to wait every time he withdrew money.

Sharing the same sentiment as Mr. Hung, many people who went to withdraw money had to wait like that. According to our research, ATM withdrawal points of banks in the district were arranged with one ATM withdrawal point, only the Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade arranged 2 withdrawal points, but still could not meet the number of people withdrawing money during the pre-Tet period. Therefore, people who went to withdraw money had to wait for a very long time.
