The family of Mr. Pham Van Dat, Hamlet 2A, Quynh Chau Commune is one of the five pioneer households to bring dairy cows to raise locally. During the raising process, he learned and researched more about care techniques, disease prevention methods and planting VA06 grass to serve as a local food source. When he was confident in his knowledge and experience, he continued to expand the herd from 5 cows in 2015 to 19 cows at present. Of which, 8 cows give milk, 5 cows are about to give birth and 6 calves. With 8 cows giving milk, he harvests 180 quintals of pure fresh milk every day, equivalent to 180 liters. Each year, the herd of dairy cows brings Mr. Dat a profit of 350 to 400 million VND/year.

As for Mr. Ho Van Chien in Hamlet 6, Quynh Tam Commune, after seeing success in dairy farming in many places, in 2014 he boldly borrowed capital to buy 9 breeding dairy cows in Ba Vi District, Hanoi with a total value of nearly 500 million VND.

Sharing his experience in the raising process, Mr. Chien said: To have healthy animals, giving milk regularly and deliciously, the quality of the diet must include green, dry food and starch. The barn must always be dry, clean and strictly follow the disease prevention process for the herd. Thanks to that, his family's animals grow well, giving 100 kg of fresh milk each day. From raising dairy cows, his family earns from 200 to 300 million VND each year.

Up to this point, the whole district of Quynh Luu has 400 dairy cows, of which 250 give milk regularly, mainly concentrated in the mountainous communes of Quynh Thang, Quynh Chau, and Quynh Tam.

On average, a cow gives milk for 7 months a year. Thanks to good care and supplemented with concentrated and roughage feed in the right proportions and quantities, the herd provides about 5,000 liters of milk each day, with a relatively stable selling price of 14,000 - 15,000 VND/liter.

Currently, dairy cows are livestock that bring high economic efficiency, so with favorable terrain and land, people are gradually developing their herds, affirming that this is a sustainable livestock farming direction. In addition, communes also propagate and mobilize people to raise large numbers of cattle far from residential areas, treat manure and wastewater according to the correct process, and ensure environmental hygiene./.
