Quynh Luu: Many effective electricity saving solutions
(Baonghean.vn) - To avoid waste and ensure electricity supply for production, business and daily life, Quynh Luu district is implementing many measures to save electricity effectively.
Quynh Luu Electricity currently manages 7 medium voltage lines, with a total length of over 255 km and 265 transformer stations with a total capacity of 93,832 KVA, 972 thousand km of low voltage lines and more than 72 thousand customers registered to use electricity.
Currently, Quynh Luu Electricity consumes an average of 365,000 kWh of electricity per day. Communes with large electricity consumption include Tien Thuy, Quynh Bang, Quynh Luong, Quynh Phuong, Quynh Lap... These are coastal communes, with high demand for electricity to freeze and ice to preserve seafood.
Therefore, to ensure electricity supply for people, especially in the middle of the hot season like this year, Quynh Luu Electricity has coordinated with communes and towns to organize propaganda on electricity saving measures, encourage people to use electricity reasonably and reduce power consumption during peak hours.

Mrs. Bui Thi Tuyen's family in Phuc Thanh village, Tien Thuy commune currently has 8 members. The house is equipped with quite a lot of electrical appliances such as air conditioners, water heaters, water purifiers, refrigerators, pumps, electric fans and many lights. To save electricity, her family has limited the use of air conditioners as much as possible. On days when the weather is too hot, the air conditioner is only turned on at noon for 2 hours and at night, it is turned on at 10pm before going to bed and turned off at 1-2am. The water heater is also only used when absolutely necessary. The fan and lighting systems are also used sparingly, turned off when not in use...
For Mr. Nguyen Van Hanh's household in Block 5, Cau Giat Town, Quynh Luu, there are 3 generations living together and two children aged 1 and 2, so the demand for electricity is quite high. To save electricity and limit spending, Mr. Hanh replaced the entire lighting system in the house with energy-saving compact lamps. When he needs hot water to bathe the children, there is water boiled on a charcoal stove in thermoses, instead of turning on the water heater like before. "Thanks to doing this, my family saves about 200,000 VND in electricity bills per month," Mr. Hanh confided.
In addition to organizing propaganda for people to practice electricity saving, Quynh Luu Electricity also regularly strengthens the inspection of power lines, transformer stations, and manages the metering system to reduce electricity loss. Investing in 16 more transformer stations in the communes of An Hoa, Quynh Minh, Quynh Luong, Quynh Yen, Quynh Nghia, Tien Thuy, Quynh Thuan...

In particular, to prevent overloading of the rural power grid in coastal communes, Quynh Luu Electricity annually invests nearly 2 billion to replace meters, power boxes, power lines and increase the transformer capacity of intermediate stations from 10 to 35KV in Quynh Nghia and Tien Thuy. Promoting the German reconstruction project to upgrade and renovate the rural power grid, gradually replacing bare wires with insulated wires and in the near future building 20 more transformer stations in densely populated areas with an investment of about 300 billion VND.
Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong - Deputy Director of Quynh Luu Electricity added: In the investment in construction of overload prevention works, up to now, the industry has completed construction of 16/36 transformer stations, renovated and repaired low-voltage power grids in Quynh Luong, Quynh Nghia, An Hoa communes and major repairs of high-voltage power lines in Quynh Tan, Quynh Thang, Tan Thang communes...
Currently, the weather is having many complicated developments, the heat is prolonged, so to ensure a stable power source, without power outages, it is not only based on the role of the electricity industry, but also requires the joint response to practice electricity saving of all people, production and business establishments and agencies and units in the area./.
