Quynh Luu launched the National Week of Labor Safety and Fire Prevention

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of May 7, at Quynh Ba commune stadium, Quynh Luu district People's Committee held a launching ceremony to respond to the first national week of occupational safety, hygiene, and fire prevention in 2017.

In 2016, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district directed all levels and sectors to strengthen propaganda, dissemination and education of laws on labor safety and fire prevention.

In addition to the achieved results, in recent years, the work of occupational hygiene and fire prevention in Quynh Luu district has not really met the requirements. Awareness of workers and employers is still limited. Training and knowledge provision on occupational safety and hygiene and environmental protection are not regular. The rate of workers in enterprises receiving periodic health check-ups is low. Fires and explosions in production, business, and forest fires still occur and cause great damage to the economy and environment...

With the theme: "Promoting training and occupational hygiene to prevent occupational accidents and diseases", responding to the National Week of Occupational Safety and Hygiene - Fire Prevention and Fighting in 2017, the leaders of Quynh Luu district requested agencies, communes, towns and enterprises to perform well the following tasks: Strengthening information and propaganda work on occupational safety and hygiene. Enterprises and production establishments need to pay attention to improving working conditions to ensure safety, properly implementing regulations on rights and interests of workers. Developing a labor protection program in the production and business plan of the unit. Strengthening inspection and self-inspection of occupational safety and hygiene, promptly handling violating units and individuals...

At the launching ceremony, representatives of communes, towns, agencies and enterprises signed a commitment with the District People's Committee to ensure labor safety and fire prevention.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, a large number of traffic police, fire prevention and fighting forces, agencies, organizations and enterprises carried banners and slogans to march with the aim of calling on all people to actively participate in responding to the first national week of labor safety and fire prevention in 2017.
