Quynh Luu launches Youth Month campaign 2015

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 7th, in Quynh Bang commune, the Executive Committee of the Quynh Luu District Youth Union, in coordination with the Sports Center, organized the launching ceremony for Youth Month and the Quynh Luu District Cross-Country Race 2015.

In order to compete and achieve many accomplishments to welcome the Party Congress at all levels, immediately after the launching ceremony of the Youth Month campaign, the Youth Union branches and the Association for the Protection of People with Disabilities and Orphans in the district donated 23 bicycles to 23 poor students with particularly difficult circumstances who have strived to achieve many accomplishments in their studies.

Also at the ceremony was the 2015 cross-country race. This is a traditional event organized annually by Quynh Luu district to encourage the practice of sports and physical training among young people and students in communes and towns, aiming to improve physical health. It also continues to respond to the campaign "All citizens practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh". Nearly 200 athletes from 33 communes and towns throughout the district participated in this year's race. The athletes competed in three categories: 2,500m for girls under 16, 3,000m for boys under 16 and girls over, and 5,000m for boys over 16. With a spirit of fair and healthy sportsmanship, the athletes competed fiercely, enthusiastically, and achieved many high results.

At the end of the tournament, the organizing committee awarded 20 individual prizes for women and 20 individual prizes for men to the 40 best athletes; 4 prizes in the doubles category; 2 prizes for men's and women's teams; and 3 overall team prizes to 3 units, with the first prize going to the team from Quynh Bang commune, the second prize to Quynh My commune, and the third prize to the team from Quynh Tan commune.
