Quynh Luu: Honoring over 13,000 outstanding farmer households at all levels for their production and business achievements.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of December 27th, the Farmers' Association of Quynh Luu district held a conference to summarize the association's work and farmers' movement in 2014 and to implement tasks for 2015.

In 2014, the Quynh Luu Farmers' Association organized 138 training courses on the transfer of scientific and technical advancements, attracting over 9,500 participants. They also coordinated the opening of 24 short-term vocational training courses for 788 members. The association effectively implemented entrustment contracts with the Social Policy Bank, providing loans to poor farmers and other policy beneficiaries totaling over 116 billion VND, benefiting more than 5,500 households. The district association directed its branches to organize 22 study tours for members to learn from successful production and business models both within and outside the province.

Currently, the entire district has honored over 13,000 outstanding farmers at all levels. In addition, the district association has mobilized officials and members to practice thrift and build a cattle bank totaling over 704 million VND, helping each other to alleviate poverty. At the same time, the district association and its branches have allocated nearly 37 million VND from the scholarship fund to give gifts to 652 disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies on the occasion of the new school year's opening ceremony…

On this occasion, 3 collectives and 2 individuals received certificates of commendation from the Provincial Farmers' Association; 6 collectives and 7 individuals received certificates of commendation from the District People's Committee; and 5 collectives and 6 individuals received certificates of commendation from the Quynh Luu District Farmers' Association for their achievements in association work and farmers in 2014. At the same time, the District Farmers' Association also awarded certificates of commendation to 3 collectives and 2 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the movement to support the cattle bank for poor farmers.
