Quynh Luu implements the grassroots democracy regulations in 2012.

(Baonghean.vn) -This morning, April 17th, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu district held a meeting to summarize the work on grassroots democracy regulations in 2011 and to implement tasks for 2012. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, Le Duc Cuong.

Overview of the conference

Over the past year, with the attention of Party committees and authorities at all levels, Quynh Luu district, in coordination with the Fatherland Front and other mass organizations, has implemented grassroots democracy with many positive results. In accordance with Ordinance 34 of the Standing Committee of the 11th National Assembly, the grassroots democracy implementation committees and people's inspection committees in all 43 communes, agencies, and units have been strengthened; 538 hamlets and blocks have developed village regulations, and 3,700 neighborhood groups have been organized. For 159 administrative and public service agencies (139 schools) and over 380 enterprises of various sectors with nearly 16,000 cadres and employees, grassroots democracy has been implemented according to Government Decrees 07 and 08/CP. The activities of the community investment monitoring committee have contributed to monitoring nearly 100 cases, creating consensus among the people. Through the implementation of grassroots democracy, the district has contributed to mobilizing people's resources for infrastructure development. Of the nearly 863 billion VND invested in infrastructure construction, the commune budget and people contributed 51 billion VND. The socio-economic situation in the district has seen many positive changes, with an economic growth rate of over 13.3%, 480 out of 538 hamlets having cultural centers, and 62 to 75% of hamlets, blocks, units, and families achieving the title of "Cultural Hamlet".

To effectively carry out the 2012 tasks, the Steering Committee for the Implementation of Grassroots Democracy at all levels in Quynh Luu prioritized propaganda content, strengthened the activities of people's inspectors and community investment monitoring committees, effectively implemented administrative reform, reformed administrative procedures, combated harassment and intimidation of citizens, ensured transparency in state management activities, socio-economic development, investment projects, land clearance, strictly dealt with acts of abusing democracy to oppose the Party's guidelines and State policies and laws at all levels, and strengthened the mobilization of people to participate and contribute to the community.
