Quynh Van: Receiving the title of 2 craft villages producing unburnt bricks
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 18, the People's Committee of Quynh Van and Quynh Luu communes solemnly held a ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition for the unburnt brick production craft village of Thuong village - Lang Hoa Chin.
Thuong Village and Hoa Chin Village (Quynh Van Commune) started producing unburnt bricks since 1995, when they were mainly made of sea shells tightly packed with lime slag and sand in manual molds and then sun-dried without being fired. In the early 2000s, when Mr. Ho Van Hoan in Hamlet 6, Quynh Van invented a hydraulic unburnt brick molding machine, the unburnt brick production in Quynh Van Commune developed strongly.

Up to now, the whole commune has 215 clamshell machines with more than 200 participating households concentrated in hamlets 11, 12, 13, 16, 17. Each year, the revenue from the unburnt brick production industry is about 150 billion VND, creating jobs for nearly 1,000 workers with an income of 3 to 5 million VND/person/month.

However, due to the characteristics of the construction materials industry, the clam casting profession still has some weaknesses such as dust and noise pollution from machinery. In particular, some households producing on both sides of National Highway 1A have violated traffic safety corridors. Therefore, Quynh Van commune is currently actively mobilizing households to produce clams in a concentrated craft village scale far from residential areas and National Highway 1A. Up to now, Thuong Village and Hoa Chin Village in hamlets 11, 12, 13 of Quynh Van commune have gathered 164 households participating in the production of clams that are qualified for recognition as craft villages. Each year, these two villages create jobs for 415 workers, with the revenue of the two villages reaching nearly 50 billion VND.
At the ceremony, the Nghe An Province Cooperative Union awarded certificates of recognition for the unburnt brick craft village to officials and people of Lang Thuong and Lang Hoa Chin. The People's Committee of Quynh Van Commune awarded certificates of merit to 3 groups and 9 individuals who have made positive contributions to the process of building the craft village./.
