To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of writer Nam Cao (1915 - 1951), Kim Dong Publishing House has just released a new edition of the novel "Sống mòn" (Worn-out Life) and the short story collection "Đôi mắt" (The Eyes) - a selection of the writer's works after 1945.

As a representative work in Nam Cao's literary career, the novel "Living in Decay" addresses a pressing issue for intellectuals in the old era: artists and writers full of aspirations and ideals, yet whose lives gradually withered away due to the worries of making ends meet.

"The Eyes" is a collection of outstanding short stories and essays by Nam Cao written after the August Revolution, clearly expressing his viewpoint of "live first, then write." The two editions, "Worn-out Life" and "The Eyes," published by Kim Dong Publishing House, are reprints of the 1977 edition published by Literature Publishing House. The covers were designed by artists Phan Thi Ngoc Linh and Nguyen Kim Diep.
