Launching the club "Preserving and promoting Khmu folk songs"
(Baonghean.vn) - This is the first club to preserve cultural beauty and maintain and promote the Khmu ethnic identity in Ky Son district.
The Women's Union of Ky Son district has just directed the Women's Union of Huu Kiem commune to organize the launching of the club "Preserving and promoting Kho Mu folk songs" in Huoi Tho village, Huu Kiem commune, Ky Son district.
The club consists of 14 members (10 women and 4 men), including 2 artisans. At the launching ceremony, the members elected a 3-member Executive Board, in which artisan Cut Van Quang was elected as Chairman; and agreed on the club's operating regulations.

Accordingly, every 3 months, the club will organize activities with the following contents: Launching the collection of music books, documents and systems of Khmu folk songs; composing lyrics with themes of propaganda policies, Party Congress Resolutions, Women's Congress Resolutions at all levels, praising the homeland and knowledge about building happy families,...
Huoi Tho village has 100% of the population being Khmu ethnic group with 137 households, accounting for 50% of the total Khmu population in Huu Kiem commune. However, the number of people who know how to sing the Khmu Tom tune is fading away.
Therefore, the club was established to motivate people to be more aware of preserving and promoting folk songs of the nation; enhancing cultural and artistic movements and promoting the building of cultural families, families with 5 no's and 3 clean's.
