Launching the Club for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence

(Baonghean.vn) -On the evening of May 22nd, the People's Committee of Hoa Hieu Ward (Thai Hoa Town) held a ceremony to launch the "Club for Preventing and Combating Domestic Violence in conjunction with trusted community support centers".

The "Family Violence Prevention Club with Trusted Community Support Centers" aims to foster solidarity among member families, encourage participation in preventing and combating domestic violence; provide healthcare for mothers and children; disseminate information on the Marriage and Family Law, the Law on Prevention and Control of Domestic Violence, and the Law on Gender Equality to its members; and contribute to the education of national cultural traditions, the prevention of social evils, and the implementation of the motto "smaller, more prosperous, equal, and happy families."

Introducing the Club's Executive Board

The club operates through activities such as meetings, thematic discussions, and theatrical performances, with the coordination and assistance of the Women's Association of the ward, the ward police, and the town's Department of Justice in providing advice, disseminating information, and promptly handling violations arising in the area.

At the launch ceremony, the Club's Steering Committee approved the charter and operating regulations and admitted the first 50 members. This is a model of a "family violence prevention and control club linked to a trusted community address" at the ward/commune level, selected by the Nghe An Provincial Women's Union as a pilot project to gain experience and replicate throughout the province in the future.
