Launching the model of inter-family fire safety group and community fire station
(Baonghean.vn) - To ensure fire and explosion prevention and control in residential areas, on the morning of August 18, Hong Son and Trung Do wards and the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police Department, Nghe An Provincial Police organized a launching ceremony for the model "Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Team" and the model "Community Fire Fighting Point" in residential areas. "Every safe house - every safe neighborhood and street - every safe commune and ward", that is the motto that the launching ceremony aims for.
Attending the launching ceremony were Colonel Cao Minh Huyen - Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, Mr. Tran Quang Lam - Vice Chairman of Vinh City People's Committee.

According to statistics in Nghe An, in 2021 and the first 6 months of 2022, there were 119 fires, killing 09 people and causing property damage of nearly 9 billion VND. In particular, there were 47 fires in family houses and houses for business, killing 08 people and causing damage of 1.3 billion VND.
Currently, in Vinh City, there are many potential risks of fire and explosion, especially in households that combine business and entertainment with large crowds... causing a lot of damage to people and property.
From the above characteristics, the launch of models is a necessary and appropriate requirement to promote and maximize the effectiveness of fire prevention and fighting work according to the motto "4 on-site" in accordance with the direction of the Ministry of Public Security.
The models were launched to raise awareness and responsibility of cadres, party members and people in complying with the Law on Fire Prevention and Fighting; to propagate and mobilize people to equip themselves with fire prevention and fighting means and equipment at home, and at the same time to guide some handling skills when situations arise.

The model of "Fire prevention and fighting inter-family safety group" was piloted through 2 residential groups on Cao Thang street (block 23, Hong Son ward) including 20 adjacent households in the residential area.
In addition, Trung Do Ward People's Committee has also launched a model of "public fire stations" with 10 public fire stations in 8 alleys and 2 lanes in the ward. All stations are fully equipped with fire extinguishers, fire prevention and fighting tools.

At the launching ceremony, residents of the “Fire Prevention and Fighting Inter-family Group” were also instructed on how to practice fire fighting right at their residential area. The drills aim to help members of the group and residents of the models raise awareness.fire protection and preventionon-site; fire response skills; how to escape when a fire occurs; fire extinguishing skills when a fire occurs and rescue work.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Colonel Cao Minh Huyen - Deputy Director of the Public Security Department praised and acknowledged the attention and responsibility of local people as well as leaders of departments and branches in fire prevention and fighting in the area. In the coming time, he hoped that the Steering Committee would proactively follow closely, regularly innovate the content to promptly adjust the model to suit the practical situation of the area. Each individual participating in the model needs to enhance their sense of responsibility, spreading the spirit of the model to residential areas. He also requested the City People's Committee as well as the People's Committees of communes and wards to pay attention and create conditions for Vinh City Police as well as residential areas to effectively carry out fire prevention and fighting work; contributing to minimizing damage caused by fires and explosions.

In addition, the Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department requested the police of districts and cities to replicate the models, and by October 15, 2022, there will be at least 1 model of Inter-family Fire Prevention and Fighting Safety Team and 1 model of community fire fighting point in the area.
