(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 8th, in Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district, Nghe An province, the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, in coordination with the Central Youth Union's Rural Youth Committee and the Youth Union of Central Government agencies, organized the launching ceremony of the 2014 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign and activities to participate in building new rural areas.
Attending the ceremony were: Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Agencies Bloc; Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union; Comrade Nguyen Long Hai - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union. Representing Nghe An province was Comrade Dinh Viet Hong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Before the ceremony, the delegation from the Central Youth Union, the Youth Union of Central Government Agencies, and the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union visited the Kim Lien historical site in Nam Dan district to offer incense and flowers in commemoration of President Ho Chi Minh. The delegation expressed their profound gratitude for his contributions and pledged to continue studying and following his moral example, to be proactive and volunteer, and to excellently fulfill their assigned tasks. Following this, the delegation also offered incense at the Truong Bon historical site and the temple dedicated to the heroic martyrs, paying tribute to the heroes and contributing to the education of patriotic traditions and national pride for the younger generation.

In 2014, the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign was implemented extensively and comprehensively with the theme "Youth Volunteers for Community Life," focusing on activities such as: organizing and undertaking youth projects and tasks to enhance the effectiveness of the "Youth Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas" movement; community health care, voluntary blood donation, supporting students during exam season, and activities related to "remembering the source of water" and "showing gratitude."

At the launching ceremony of the Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign, the Standing Committee of the Youth Union of Central Government Agencies presented 50 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to former youth volunteers in Nam Dan district; Tien Phong Newspaper and the Youth Union of Central Government Agencies donated 50 million VND to support the construction of houses of gratitude and 100 million VND to support the construction of rural roads in Nam Tan commune, Nam Dan district; and presented 8 gifts to the families of fisheries officers and soldiers and 4 young fishermen in Nghe An province. Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company donated 100 tons of cement to Nam Tan commune for road construction in the area. In addition, the Central Youth Union also provided a loan of 200 million VND from the National Fund for Employment, Production, and Business to union members to build youth participation models for economic development.

Following the launching ceremony, youth union members from the Central Government Agencies Bloc and the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union participated in activities such as medical examinations and dispensing medicine to the people in the area; and commenced the construction of rural roads in Hamlet 3, Nam Tan Commune, Nam Dan District.
