Starting production at the beginning of the year.
(Baonghean) - On the first working day of the Lunar New Year 2015 (Year of the Goat), units and businesses organized flag-raising ceremonies and launched production emulation movements with the determination to successfully implement production and business plans. Reporters from Baonghean Newspaper were present at factories and ports to experience the vibrant production atmosphere in the early days of Spring…
From early morning on the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, the spring atmosphere still permeated the streets, but many units and businesses in the province began production. At factories and ports, the atmosphere of competitive labor and production was very intense. The first ship to arrive at Cua Lo Port in the new year was the Freya, a Hong Kong-flagged vessel with a tonnage of 8,876 tons. Captain XIAO JIEYU said: “In this first shipment of the new year, the Freya carried equipment and machinery for the Formosa Ha Tinh project. At 12 PM on February 22nd (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), Cua Lo Port mobilized 45 staff and 10 types of vehicles and equipment to focus on unloading the cargo, and after 48 hours, the goods were unloaded. We are very happy to be the first to arrive at Cua Lo Port.” Due to the specifics of Cua Lo Port, the workforce only took a break on the afternoon of the 29th of Tet (after unloading the Atlantic Ocean container ship of Dai Tay Duong Trading and Maritime Transport Joint Stock Company) and on the 4th day of Tet (Year of the Goat), they began unloading cargo to release the Freya ship. According to the plan for the new year, five ships will dock at Cua Lo Port: the Freya, the Vietsun Fortuner container ship, the Atlantic Ocean, the HP 3869, and a fertilizer cargo ship.

Mr. Yen Van Phuc, Deputy Director of Trade at Cua Lo Loading and Unloading Enterprise, said: “Due to the requirements of ship owners and cargo owners for quick cargo handling, during Tet we developed a very scientific and reasonable plan for loading and unloading goods, which was highly appreciated by customers. With a vibrant labor competition atmosphere right from the first days of the new year, it will create momentum for Cua Lo Port to achieve its plan of loading and unloading 750,000 tons of goods in the first quarter of 2015.” Recently, with the attention and investment of the Ministry of Transport, the General Department of Maritime Affairs of Vietnam, and the Nghe Tinh Port One-Member Limited Liability Company, the Cua Lo Port upgrade project has been implemented to accommodate large-tonnage ships, along with modern equipment and machinery to meet production requirements in the new situation. Currently, in addition to equipment such as pedestal cranes, crawler cranes, internal transport vehicles, semi-automatic container handling frames, etc., in 2014, Cua Lo Port invested nearly 13 billion VND to purchase 13 more types of modern equipment and machinery to serve cargo handling. In 2014, the port received 850 vessels and handled over 2,557,254 tons of cargo.
At Hoang Thi Loan Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company, at exactly 7:15 AM on the 6th day of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Goat), 950 employees gathered at the factory to participate in the flag-raising ceremony. Following this important ceremony, the company's leadership launched a labor and production emulation campaign and rewarded employees who had achieved outstanding results in the past period. They also gave each employee 200,000 VND (totaling 190 million VND) as a New Year's gift. This meaningful activity aimed to create an enthusiastic and vibrant atmosphere of labor competition on the first production day of the new year. According to the leader of Hoang Thi Loan Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company: “In the past, although the export market faced many difficulties, the company has innovated its operations, invested in installing modern equipment, and increased production capacity to meet high-quality, large-quantity orders, while also seeking and developing new export markets. In 2014, the production output exceeded 14,000 tons of yarn, ensuring good employment for workers with an income of nearly 5 million VND per person per month. For 2015, the company aims to achieve a production output of 16,500 tons of yarn and continue to develop strongly in the markets of South Korea, Egypt, Turkey, China, etc.” The unique characteristic of the cement industry is that production and kiln shutdowns are impossible, so every Tet holiday, VICEM Hoang Mai Cement Joint Stock Company operates normally, and all employees are clearly aware of their work and responsibilities in order to achieve the production plan. To encourage employees to work with peace of mind, the trade union meticulously prepared for everyone to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) at their respective workshops. In addition to caring for 700 employees celebrating Tet at the company, such as giving gifts to workers; organizing meals with higher value per meal; organizing New Year's Eve celebrations for workers at the factory; and in addition to the 13th month salary, the company awarded Tet bonuses of 5.5 million VND per person… On this occasion, the company also organized visits to 27 families of employees in difficult circumstances. The Party Committee and the Company's Trade Union visited, gave gifts, and extended Tet greetings to 21 families of deceased employees. Professional leaders and the Trade Union directly visited and presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers in Quynh Luu district; and visited and presented gifts to 3 children the company is supporting, including Nguyen Thi Lan (Nghi Loc district, whose parents died in a rockslide). Le Van Trung (Yen Thanh district, whose father died in a rockfall at Len Co); Nguyen Van Dinh (Hoang Mai town).
