PV:Dear Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Nghe An is one of the localities that has always made outstanding contributions to both the front and the rear in terms of manpower and resources during the resistance wars for national construction, and is also a locality with a large number of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and people who have contributed to the revolution. What do you think about this?

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh:To have an independent, unified, sovereign and sovereign country, and a peaceful and stable environment like today, the entire Vietnamese people have had to go through countless hardships, suffer many losses and sacrifices. Nghe An is the locality with the fourth highest number of martyrs, war invalids and beneficiaries of policies for revolutionary contributions in the country.

The whole province has over 590,000 people participating in the army; over 45,000 people participating in the Youth Volunteer Force; nearly 150,000 people participating in the frontline laborers and guerrilla militia; nearly 6,000 revolutionary veterans, pre-insurrectionists; over 900 revolutionary cadres and soldiers imprisoned by the enemy, over 45,000 martyrs, nearly 40,000 wounded soldiers, 13,000 sick soldiers, 19,000 people participating in the resistance war and their children exposed to toxic chemicals...

Every cadre, party member and citizen of Nghe An clearly understands the immense value of independence, unity and peace. The path of glory that we are following today was built by our ancestors with blood, sweat, tears, and their youth and happiness. Many people have suffered physical and mental losses for the rest of their lives. These are things we must never forget.

In difficult times of the nation, Nghe An people always show their passionate patriotism, heroism and indomitability. The qualities and personalities of Nghe An people have been nurtured throughout history, continuing to shine, multiplying into new strength in the Ho Chi Minh era. The Party Committee and people of Nghe An always contribute human and material resources, on all fronts, all battlefields, all campaigns, from the rear to the front. The qualities of intelligence, the spirit of indomitable loyalty, the virtue of sacrifice for a great cause, and solidarity in hardship have been highly promoted, creating a unique mark of Nghe people.

PV:Could you share about the responsibilities that cadres, party members, and the masses have today to be worthy of the great sacrifices of war invalids and martyrs?

Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh:Firstly, every day, every hour, today's generation needs to make every effort, strive to build Nghe An to develop quickly and sustainably, worthy of the sacrifices and losses of previous generations, fulfilling the wishes of previous generations. We must well implement the Central Resolution 4 to fight against degradation, corruption, and negativity, so that each cadre and party member can be more exemplary and responsible in work and life.

Second, we must do a good job of educating about traditions, so that today's and future generations understand the value of peace, independence, and freedom, and do not forget the sacrifices and losses of our ancestors for noble ideals. Party committees and authorities at all levels must implement good policies towards those with meritorious services, and the families of war invalids and martyrs.

Every Nghe An citizen needs to have actions, deeds, and behaviors that are consistent with the ethics of “remembering the source of water when drinking” and “remembering the person who planted the tree when eating the fruit”. Young people need to avoid showing signs of forgetfulness, lack of interest, and indifference to the heroic history of the nation, and lack of information about the sacrifices and contributions of previous generations.

I say this because besides the things we do very well, the work of caring for war invalids and martyrs still has limitations and shortcomings that need to be overcome soon. The living situation of a part of people with meritorious services and policy families is still difficult.

Programs to care for the lives of families with revolutionary contributions are not uniform. The "Repaying gratitude" movement has not been maintained regularly. The search and collection of martyrs' remains and identification of martyrs are still limited. Preferential policies for war invalids, martyrs' families and people with revolutionary contributions are still flawed and slow.

There are still some people who have contributed but have not been recognized. These are things that the entire political system needs to take action on, and the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs at all levels must resolutely implement. There are things that one person has not finished, so another person will do it, and things that this generation has not finished, so the next generation must continue to do it.

Thirdly, every cadre, party member and people in Nghe An must always be aware and clearly perceive the responsibility to inherit, continue and promote the glorious traditions of the homeland and country. It is necessary to focus on building and maintaining the solidarity of the whole people, ensuring political stability in the area, creating a favorable environment to attract investors, friends and tourists to Nghe An.

Doing these things is also fulfilling Uncle Ho's advice: "The blood of the martyrs has made the revolutionary flag more brilliant red. The heroic sacrifice of the martyrs has prepared our country for the blossoming of independence and the fruit of freedom. Our people will forever remember the merits of the martyrs and we must always learn from the brave spirit of the martyrs to overcome all difficulties and hardships, and complete the revolutionary cause that the martyrs have left for us...".
