(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 30, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Khang, Deputy Head of the Dien Chau District Police (Nghe An), announced that a decision had been made to prosecute and temporarily detain Hoang Huu Hai (45 years old, residing in Hamlet 6, Dien Thinh Commune, Dien Chau District) for intentionally causing injury resulting in death.

Earlier, at around 1:30 PM on March 23rd, Hai went to Ms. Hien's beverage shop and coincidentally met Mr. Hoang Cong Duc (66 years old, residing in the same neighborhood) riding his bicycle home in the same direction. Being neighbors, Hai greeted Mr. Duc. Seeing Mr. Duc with a dog in the basket on the front of his bicycle, Hai asked where he bought it, to which Mr. Duc replied, "I wouldn't let you eat it anywhere." Mr. Duc then accused Hai of taking his money, leading to an argument between the two.

Although Hai tried to explain that he hadn't taken the money, Mr. Duc didn't believe him and continued to verbally abuse him. Seeing this, Ms. Hien, who was inside the shop, ran out to intervene.

Afterward, Hai and Mr. Duc went home. After about 50 meters, Mr. Duc stopped and blocked Hai's motorbike, shoving him forcefully while cursing and falsely accusing him of stealing money. Hai, extremely upset, kicked Mr. Duc in the leg with his right foot and punched him in the head with his right hand, causing Mr. Duc to fall unconscious. Following the incident, some bystanders advised Hai to go home, warning that Mr. Duc's family might come and beat him. Mr. Duc was later taken to the hospital but died.

After the incident, Hai went to the Dien Thinh commune police station to confess to his actions.

It is known that Hai and Mr. Duc were neighbors, often visiting each other. Hai is a gentle farmer from a disadvantaged family with two young children and a frequently ill wife. After committing his crime a few days ago, Hai has been very remorseful in the detention room.
