A resident of Hamlet 3, Kim Son town, who asked to remain anonymous, shared: “For the past few months, garbage has been piling up right next to my house. The stench has turned my family’s life upside down. My meals are no longer delicious, and my sleep is not peaceful.”
According to the reporter's records, at the intersection of Block 3, Kim Son town (right next to the households and the Que Phong District Police headquarters), there is a huge amount of garbage dumped right on the side of the road with all kinds of unsorted waste, from household waste, construction waste to medical waste.
In particular, this stinking landfill is located on a road with a large amount of traffic, near residential areas and shops.

Ms. TTP, a resident living near the landfill, said that the landfill has been there for more than half a year. Since the landfill appeared, her family has had to live with an overwhelming infestation of flies and mosquitoes. Not only that, on days when the weather changes, the stench makes everyone in her family restless.
On the road connecting Kim Son town to Pa Nat village, Muong Noc commune, there is also a phenomenon of people littering on both sides of the road, causing pollution.
Mr. Hoang Trung Cuong - Chairman of Kim Son Town People's Committee said that the above-mentioned garbage dumping site is located on the border between Kim Son Town and Muong Noc Commune. The garbage at that site is mainly dumped by people from some villages in Muong Noc Commune. The town's residents have environmental vehicles to collect and dump at the landfill designated by the town.

Regarding the problem of waste in Kim Son town, Mr. Cuong added that this is a local problem. Every day, the whole town has more than 40 tons of waste being dumped into the town cemetery in block 1. "Knowing that it is a sacred place, it should not be done like that, but there is no other way. Now I just hope that the district's landfill will be completed soon to solve this problem" - Mr. Cuong said.
