The biggest meteor shower of the year with a maximum density of up to 100 meteors per hour will appear on the night of August 12 to the morning of August 13 in Vietnam.

The Perseids meteor shower is created by dust left behind by the comet Swift-Tuttle as it passes by Earth. The Perseids meteor shower runs from July 17 to August 24 every year, peaking on the night of August 12 to the morning of August 13.

According to the Vietnam Young Astronomers Association, the best time to observe the Perseids meteor shower is from early morning on August 12 to 14, with August 13 being the most ideal, with the best time to observe after 00:00. Observers should look to the northeast of the sky, where the constellation Perseus is located.

Viewers only need to use the naked eye to observe the Perseids and must be patient because the time between meteors can range from a few seconds to several minutes.

The Perseids are considered one of the best meteor showers of the year. Each year, they light up the sky when Earth passes through the debris-filled tail of comet Swift-Tuttle.

They are named Perseids because they appear to come from the constellation Perseus. They are actually small balls of ice and dust, ranging in size from a grain of sand to as large as a pea. When they reach the Earth's atmosphere, they can reach speeds of up to 215 km/h, but they pose no threat.
