Rashford makes his Aston Villa debut: "I admire the way the club plays."

The English striker will play for Aston Villa until the end of the season, and the Birmingham club have the option to buy him permanently for £40 million in the summer. Aston Villa will cover the majority of Rashford's salary during his loan spell, with the possibility of this increasing to 90% based on his performance.

After the deal was finalized, Rashford shared his feelings on social media: “I want to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen. I was very fortunate to have received interest from a few clubs, but Aston Villa was the obvious choice. I admire the way Aston Villa have played this season, a team with great ambition and led by a talented manager. I want to play and I’m very excited to get started. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best.”

Aston Villa also released a brief statement regarding the signing of Rashford: “Aston Villa are pleased to announce the signing of Marcus Rashford on loan from Manchester United. The England international, who has 60 caps for the national team, will join Aston Villa on a loan deal until the end of the season.”

Rashford became Aston Villa's third signing of the January transfer window, following Donyell Malen and Andres Garcia. This move also ended a turbulent period for the 27-year-old, during which he lost his place under manager Ruben Amorim. After making his debut in 2016 under Louis van Gaal, Rashford scored on his Amorim debut in November against Ipswich Town, but then went on to miss another minute in the following 12 games. The move to Aston Villa is seen as a great opportunity for Rashford to regain his form for the remainder of the season.
