In addition to worms, brown planthoppers and white-backed planthoppers have also appeared and caused damage with a density of 100-200 individuals/m2, in high places from 2,500-3,000 individuals/m2.2, locally in Thanh Linh, Thanh Van, Dong Van communes there are over 5,000 individuals/m2. Planthoppers are commonly at age 2, 3, 4 and continue to hatch.
Sheath blight disease has also occurred, causing local damage concentrated on rice at the heading-blossoming stage with an average rate of 5-10%, in high places > 20%.

Thanh Chuong district is directing relevant sectors and localities to regularly visit fields and carefully check each rice crop: when detecting leaf rollers and planthoppers with a density of 1,000 individuals/m2or more, spray with one of the specific drugs such as: Chess 50WG, Oshin 20WP, Sutin 50 SC, Alika 247 SC, Penalty Gold 50EC,.. if the density of planthoppers is high > 5,000 individuals/m2, it must be used in combination with Victory 585EC or Bassa 50EC... to spray effectively and quickly reduce the density...
The district Plant Protection Station also recommends that all of the above drugs must be used in the correct dosage and concentration as indicated on the packaging. Spray in the early morning or cool afternoon. In conditions where rice is infected with many types of pests, a mixture can be mixed, but no more than 3 types of drugs should be mixed and sprayed immediately after mixing.
