According to the Daily Star, Real Madrid are preparing to make a record-breaking bid for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, with a potential transfer fee of £100 million.

Karim Benzema's rather disappointing form is believed to be the biggest reason behind Real Madrid's decision. Last season, the French striker only scored 24 goals in 52 matches across all competitions, while Suarez won the Golden Boot despite missing the early part of the season due to suspension.
Benzema is currently receiving a lot of interest from Arsenal.
Previously, in a speech, former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon admitted: "Suarez is one of the best players in the world. Real Madrid will definitely buy him."
Inter Milan president Eric Thohir has admitted he is keeping an eye on Tottenham midfielder Erik Lamela.
Lamela (22 years old) possesses impressive technique, speed, and long-range shots, and has been dubbed the "new Messi."
However, the Argentinian winger didn't perform well last season, making only 17 appearances, scoring just one goal and providing three assists.
According to Spanish media reports, Barcelona are very interested in Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.
Since joining MU, Mata has consistently shown good form. However, MU's failure to qualify for the Champions League next season may make the Spanish winger less enthusiastic about staying at Old Trafford. Furthermore, MU's new manager, Van Gaal, also seems uninterested in Mata.
If Mata joins Barcelona, he is considered a replacement for veteran Xavi.
Neither MU nor Barca have yet commented officially on the above information, nor on the reports that MU wants to sign Cesc Fabregas from Camp Nou.

According to information published in the Mirror (England), manager Arsene Wenger has decided to spend heavily to bring midfielder Sami Khedira to the Emirates Stadium.
To secure the services of the German international, Arsenal had to put £15 million on the negotiating table.
With Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby frequently injured, and Mike Arteta getting older, Khedira could be considered a safe option for Arsenal.
PSG have admitted that Barcelona are trying to contact them regarding the transfer of central defender Marquinhos. The future of the young Brazilian talent at PSG is very uncertain after the French club spent £50 million to acquire David Luiz from Chelsea.
