(Baonghean.vn) - In the fields of Anh Son district, it is currently the spring rice planting season. Although the weather is very cold these days, people still take advantage of the opportunity to work as hired laborers to earn extra income.

In the cold that penetrates the skin, from early morning, in the fields of Long Son and Khai Son communes, people are still busy planting spring rice.

According to Ms. Ha Thi Dan in village 11, Hoa Son commune, because her family has few fields and the crop schedule is earlier than in neighboring communes, every year she takes the opportunity to work as a hired laborer. Rice planting is quite hard work because she has to bend her back all day, soak her hands and feet in mud, especially on days when the temperature drops, but in return the wages are quite high, 200,000 VND/day; after the planting season, Ms. Dan also has a decent amount of money to take care of her family.

Only when you go to the fields can you see the hard work of the people who work for hire in this cold weather. In the fields, women still soak in cold water with their hands trembling and turning purple. Ms. Luong Thi Thuy said that for many years now, she has been working on her family's fields to quickly finish the rice planting season so that she can work for hire in the communes in the district.

Mrs. Thuy's planting team has 7 people in the village. Usually, the landowners are familiar with her, so when the season comes, they call and make an appointment to come plant. One person introduces another person, and during peak days, the planting team can't stop working. The planting season for hire only lasts for a short time, from 15 to 20 days, but the wages are quite high. After the planting season, each person earns some money to prepare for the upcoming Tet holiday.

During the planting season in Anh Son, hundreds of people work as hired laborers. Although it is hard work, especially on cold days, they do not have to go far, and the job helps the planters earn extra income to cover their living expenses.
